Enabling this in a tab in the background allows you to actively contribute to the Tor Project! A Snowflake proxy essentially allows people from all over the world to access censored websites and applications. Similar to how VPNs assist users in getting around internet censorship, Snowflake helps people avoid being noticed by internet censors by making their internet activity appear as though they're using the internet for a regular video or voice call. Once the icon turns from purple to green, that means that someone is using your instance to connect to Tor!

The glowies probably won't like that I've set this up, but whatever, it is still safe for you to have enabled, but they may up their efforts to take my site down (I'm not giving in though). I was tempted to run a dedicated server for this, but I decided against it to instead focus my resources on different things to help other community projects.
